Globus Elite S II Two-channel electrostimulator

PROTOCOL OF TREATMENT:

A sedentary lifestyle determines effects on the musculature, which becomes less powerful, getting tired easily, without being able to assume its role of supporting the skeleton and the various organs.

Muscular insufficiency, in addition to the effects on the silhouette, can cause pain such as lumbar pain, the frequency of which is higher in people without effective abdominal muscles.
The electrostimulation therefore allows the recovery and preservation of a tonic musculature, able to ensure the effective support of the body and to prevent various types of pain.

Electrostimulation is therefore useful:

  • to optimize the quality of the muscles: the electrostimulation therefore allows to work very intensely the muscles chosen.
  • To strengthen the muscles, increasing resistance or strength, choosing some special programs.
  • to accelerate recovery after intense effort and limit the appearance of soreness.
  • to prevent injuries, such as ankle sprains, by strengthening certain muscles (in this case the peromoles).
  • to relieve pain, for example related to tendon problems or muscle contractures.

High level athletes have integrated electrostimulation to their physical preparation to improve recovery and performance level. These benefits can be achieved at any level of practice as electrostimulation progressively helps you to achieve your goals in terms of health and fitness.

Even people who practice occasional physical activity or for fun can use electrostimulation to complete the practice or to increase the results of the practice. Electrostimulation is useful, for example, for the seasonal skier, in order to prepare the muscles for the winter holidays, using appropriate stimulation programs and thus avoid the fatigue of the first days and the risk of injury.
The medical indications of electrostimulation (electrotherapy) concern rehabilitation and re-education, as in the rehabilitation departments of large public and private hospitals, in general or specialised rehabilitation centres and in physiotherapy centres: with Elite it will be easy and safe to get the same professional results at home.

What it does

The choice of the size of the electrodes (large or small) and their positioning on the muscle group that you want to stimulate determine both the comfort of the sessions and the effectiveness of the work that will be carried out.
For this reason, it is recommended to always pay the utmost attention and adopt the positions indicated.

The position of the person during stimulation depends on the muscle group you want to treat. The various positions are clearly indicated by the images placed next to the drawings that show the correct position of the electrodes.

For programs of the categories Vascular, Massage and Pain and for the program Active Recovery, which do not involve strong muscle contractions, put yourself in the most comfortable way possible.
For all other programmes involving significant contractions (tetanic contractions), it is recommended to work in isometry, fixing the extremities of the limb so that there are no sudden movements: for example, in the case of stimulation of quadriceps, the subject will be seated with the ankles specially stopped to prevent the extension of the knee.

RESULTS

Electrostimulation is a technique whose effectiveness has been proven by numerous scientific publications. Some of these studies have shown that electrostimulation can bring improved sports strength and performance, enhanced muscle recovery, physiological changes in the structure of muscles and nerves.

The results obtained in the aesthetic field are subjective. However, for the first results of toning, 3-4 regular and constant weekly sessions are sufficient which can lead to a good result already after 15 days. Better and faster results are obtained if the treatments are combined with good physical activity and a proper lifestyle.

We do not recommend the use of electrostimulators in the following cases:

  • Stimulation of the front part of the neck (carotid sinus).
  • Patient with a pacemaker.
  • Cancer patients (consult your oncologist).
  • Stimulation of the brain region.
  • Use on pains of which the etiology is not known.
  • Sores and dermatological pathologies.
  • Acute trauma.
  • Stimulation on recent scars.
  • Pregnancy.
  • It is absolutely forbidden to use the electrostimulator in the ocular and genital area.
  • Use of the electrostimulator in water
  • In the vicinity of areas to be treated characterised by the presence of metallic synthesis media and infra-tissue metals (such as prostheses, osteosynthesis materials, spirals, screws, plaques), if monophasic currents such as interference and direct current (iontophoresis) are used.

In case of doubts or concerns, contact your doctor.

Who can use electrostimulation?

Electrostimulation for a long time was reserved for health professionals, such as physiotherapists. Slowly, some athletes who had discovered the benefits of electrostimulation for the healing of injuries have recovered this technique to improve their muscle performance. Today electrostimulation has become a technique or accessible to everyone, such as athletes, people suffering from osteo-articular pain, neuralgia and muscular pathologies, or who simply want to keep fit.

Electrostimulation is neither dangerous nor painful:

Electrostimulation does not include any type of risk in healthy subjects: today contraindications are rare (and in the presence of implantation of a cardiac stimulator or defibrillator, epilepsy, pregnancy) and effectiveness is considerably increased thanks to the combined effect of significant technological advances and extensive medical knowledge in the field of the physiology of the human body.
