STRENGTHS OF Globus Techarterapy

- Clinical studies have shown that Tecarterapy is particularly effective in the treatment of traumas and diseases of the musculoskeletal system

- Tecarterapy allows to obtain an antalgic effect, often from the first treatment, both on acute diseases and in the presence of chronic conditions.

- The particular effectiveness of this form of thermotherapy makes it possible to obtain results with relatively short treatment cycles when compared to other forms of thermotherapy

- Tecarterapy allows therapeutic action to be directed and graded with great precision to the target, even when it is in depth. The other methods that use an exogenous energy supply are not able to have the same effectiveness, both for the low depth of action and for the problems caused by the heat at the points of application.

ENERGY LEVEL AND MODULATION OF THERAPEUTIC EFFECTS

The extent of the therapeutic effect of Tecarterapia is determined by the energy that the device transfers to the treated part.

Clinical studies have identified, on the basis of the effects produced by Tecarterapia , 3 energy levels in order to better define and quantify the effects of therapy by the fisoterapista

- Low energy level: Biostimulating effect - Athermia or low heat perception.

At low power levels, typically used for acute diseases, different effects can be obtained:

activation of aerobic energy transformations

increase in ATP production

increase in microcirculation.

Even if biological processes are activated the perception of heat by the subject, at this stage, is very weak and sometimes absent.

- Medium energy level: Hyperaemic effect

At medium power levels we obtain in the treated area a first significant increase in the temperature that produces:

arterial and venous vasodilation

increase in blood volume

increase in energy transformations

increased oxygen consumption.

- High energy level: Strong endothermic effect

At this level of power is obtained a decided increase in temperature; to this are associated:

further opening of the vasal bed and blood flow

opening of lymphatic vessels and drainage

high level of energy transformation

activation of thermoregulation mechanisms    

The two Modes!

CAPACITIVE AND RESISTIVE MODE

Another great advantage of Tecarterapia is the possibility to concentrate the therapeutic action on the desired points thanks to its different operating modes: TECAR Capacitiva and TECAR Resistiva.

The capacitive mode allows to specifically treat Capacitive tissues characterized by a low resistance to the current, focusing the action on skin tissue, connective tissue, circulatory system and lymphatic system.

To obtain the Capacitive effect, the current is applied to the body with two electrodes: an isolated (active) electrode of small size and an uninsulated counter electrode placed on the opposite side of the body part to be treated. In this mode, which uses the principle of the condenser, an electric charge movement (ion displacement current) is generated inside the treated part, which is mainly concentrated in the soft tissues of the area below the active electrode, where the maximum therapeutic action develops.

The counter-electrode, which consists of a large metal plate, acts by recruiting the charges necessary to achieve the therapeutic action.

RESISTIVE MODE

The resistive mode is carried out with non-insulated electrodes and allows to concentrate the action of current on tissues that offer greater resistance to the passage of electric charges such as bone tissue, cartilaginous tissue, tendons, ligaments, aponeurotic bands and fibrotic tissue.

The treatment technique involves the use of two non-insulated electrodes (small active electrode and large counter electrode) as well as the use of a single handpiece with the two incorporated poles (bipolar handpiece).

In the resistive mode is of fundamental importance the positioning of the electrodes on the part to be treated: the therapeutic action is determined in fact between the two electrodes because it is along this direction that the current flow that generates heat is realized.

The Globus Tecarterapia provides for the use of these two methods of treatment depending on the pathologies to be treated and their more or less profound localization, also in a combined way to increase the effectiveness of treatment.
